Cookie Policy
This page explains what AVR Nottingham stores in your browser. It is a short page because we store very little.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites place in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, let a site remember small pieces of information between visits. Many sites use them to measure traffic, show adverts or follow visitors around the web. We do none of that.
What we store
There is exactly one item. When you click to accept or decline on our cookie notice, your answer is saved in your browser's local storage so that the notice does not reappear on every page you open. That single entry:
- contains only your choice, nothing that identifies you;
- stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else;
- remains until you clear your browser's data for this site.
What we do not use
| Type | Used here? |
|---|---|
| Analytics or statistics cookies | No |
| Advertising or retargeting cookies | No |
| Social media tracking pixels | No |
| Third-party embeds that set cookies | No |
| Your cookie-notice answer in local storage | Yes |
Does declining change anything?
Not really. Because the site does not load trackers, accepting or declining has no effect on what you see or what is collected. Either answer simply closes the notice and is remembered in the same way.
How to change or remove your choice
Clear the stored data for this website in your browser settings. On your following visit the notice returns and you can answer it again. Browsers also let you block storage entirely; the articles will still work normally if you do.
Why we keep it this way
People often read about health when they are worried, and we think that reading should stay private. Leaving out trackers also keeps pages light and quick to load, which matters on a slow phone connection late at night.
Other websites
If you follow a link from one of our articles to another site, that site may use its own cookies. Its own policy will explain how.
