How We Handle Data

This page explains what information is involved when you visit AVR Nottingham and what happens to it. The short version: very little is collected, nothing is sold, and we do not track you.

Who is responsible

AVR Nottingham is run by a small editorial team. For anything related to this policy, write to desk@avrnottingham.com.

A static website

The site is made of pre-built pages that are simply delivered to your browser. There are no user accounts, no comment system, no login and no shopping basket. That means there is nothing for you to register for and no profile kept about you.

No analytics, adverts or tracking

We do not use analytics tools, advertising networks, social media pixels or any other third-party trackers. We do not build visitor profiles and we do not follow you to other websites.

Your cookie-banner choice

When you first arrive, a small notice asks whether you accept or decline. Your answer is saved in your own browser using local storage, so the notice does not appear on every page. This value stays on your device, is never sent to us and contains nothing that identifies you. Wiping this site's stored data in your browser removes it whenever you like. Hosting logs

Like almost every website, ours is served by a hosting provider whose systems automatically record basic technical information when a page is requested. This can include your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser type and the referring address. These logs are used to keep the service running, to deal with errors and to protect against abuse. They are kept only for a short period by the provider and are not used by us to identify visitors.

When you email us

An email to us arrives with your address, any name you sign with and whatever you decide to share. We use this only to read and reply to your message. We do not add you to any mailing list. Messages are deleted once the conversation is finished and there is no reason to keep them, unless we need to hold on to a correction request for our records. Please do not send us medical records or sensitive health details; we cannot give personal advice and would rather not store that kind of information.

Legal basis

Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, hosting logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website, and emails on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, email us at the address above. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
